Overview
The Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive (IPPC) requires sites which are likely to generate pollution to have a permit.
The permit is issued when criteria such as Emission Limit Values (ELVs) need to be met and the monitoring and emissions data is also required.
This directive was replaced by the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) on 7th January 2014 with the exception of the LCPD (Large Combustion Plan Directive) which remains in force until 1st January 2016.
